I was thrilled to be selected as one of 33 artists to take part in The Mermaid Arts Centres ‘Gap Day’ programme. Facilitated by Lian Bell and supported by the arts council, Gap Day is paid time and space to do the creative thinking and planning that is often impossible for freelance workers to carve out. The Gap Day programme is a unique opportunity for artists across the island to spend a day or two developing creative ideas.
I spent my gap day at my local Ballina Arts Centre in Co. Mayo, developing ideas for my show ‘The Birthday Party’.
Here’s an interview with me discussing the initiative.
